We were joined for an Entered Apprentice Degree
on the evening of Thursday, May 20, 2004, by two very special guests from our “sister lodge,”
Warren Lodge #51 in Cockeysville, Maryland (near Baltimore). That lodge’s WM Louis Bandell Jr and WB Vern Huebschman, secretary, made a special trip to Portland, CT, to visit our lodge and invite our brothers to come see them soon, too. The photos here show several brothers from
both Warren Lodge #51’s!
We were pleased to be joined by many other guests, including RWB Bert Bradbury, District Deputy for District 7A of the Grand Lodge of Connecticut; several brothers from Anchor Lodge #119 in East Hampton, CT,
and from St John’s Lodge #2 in Middletown. We all enjoyed a fascinating presentation on
Symbolism in Masonry presented by WB Ross Burke of Norfolk, CT
Presiding in the East as acting Worshipful Master for the Entered Apprentice
Degree conferred upon Brother Standish of Anchor Lodge #119 was Senior Warden
Jim Landry. JW Dave Berndtson moved from the South to the West as acting Senior Warden, and WM Fred Frost served as Junior Warden in the South. Also deserving recognition was WB Jean Maheu of Anchor Lodge who delivered the inspiring Door Lecture to the candidate.
